Boilermaker / Welder

Job Summary

We’re looking for a qualified Boilermaker / Welder to join our team for ongoing projects across NSW. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures and components in accordance with Australian Standards. You’ll be working with mild steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials across construction, Industrial & manufacturing environments.

A strong commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and weld metal structures, components, and pipework to specifications.
  • Read and interpret detailed drawings, blueprints, and fabrication plans.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding to required tolerances and standards.
  • Conduct cutting, grinding, and finishing of fabricated products.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on equipment and structural components.
  • Operate safely in workshop and site environments, following all WHS requirements.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with AS/NZS welding codes and company standards.

Skill & Experience

  • Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Welder (Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in fabrication and welding within the industry.
  • Competency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding processes.
  • Ability to read and work from fabrication drawings and isometric diagrams.
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards (AS1554, AS1796, etc.) relevant to welding and fabrication.
  • Reliable transport and current driver’s license.

Mechanical Fitter / Machinist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter / Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the fitting, assembling, and maintenance of mechanical components and machinery, ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and performance in line with operational requirements.

A strong commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Assemble and fit mechanical parts to precise tolerances.
  • Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machine tools.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and fault-finding on mechanical systems.
  • Modify, service, and repair mechanical equipment and components.

You’ll be responsible for the installation, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of pipe systems in accordance with Australian Standards and WHS regulations. The role involves working across industrial, commercial, mining, oil & gas & construction environments, so attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems according to drawings and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes to required angles and dimensions.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and isometric diagrams.
  • Conduct pressure tests and quality checks to ensure compliance with AS standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing piping systems.
  • Work collaboratively with welders, fitters, and other trades on-site.
  • Comply with all company safety procedures and Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations.

Skill & Experience

  • Trade qualification in Pipe Fitting, Engineering Fabrication, or Mechanical Fitting (Certificate III or higher).
  • Demonstrated experience in pipe installation and fabrication within the industry, e.g. oil & gas, construction, manufacturing, mining.
  • Sound understanding of Australian Standards (AS4041, ASME, etc.) relevant to piping systems.
  • Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and isometrics.
  • Competent in the use of pipe fitting tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
  • Sound ability to communicate in English.

Rigger / Dogman

Job Summary

We’re seeking experienced Riggers and Dogmen to join our team for ongoing projects across NSW. You’ll be responsible for the safe slinging, directing, and rigging of loads for cranes and lifting equipment in accordance with Australian Standards and WHS regulations.

This position involves working in construction & industrial environments where precision, communication, and safety are top priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform dogging and rigging duties for the movement, placement, and securing of loads.
  • Signal and direct crane operators using standard hand and radio communication.
  • Assemble and dismantle lifting and rigging gear, including chains, slings, and spreader bars.
  • Conduct pre-start checks and inspections to ensure lifting equipment is in safe working order.
  • Assist with structural steel erection, mechanical component installation, and heavy lift operations.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and Work Health & Safety (WHS) requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with crane crews, site supervisors, and other trades.

Skill & Experience

  • High-Risk Work License: DG (Dogging) essential, RB / RI / RA (Basic–Advanced Rigging) highly regarded.
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Proven experience in dogging and rigging within construction, shutdown & industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of lifting plans, load charts, and safety protocols.

Trades Assistant / Labourer

Job Summary

We’re seeking reliable and motivated Trades Assistants / Labourers to join our team on projects across NSW. The successful applicants will support qualified trades — such as boilermakers, fitters, riggers, and welders — in the safe and efficient delivery of construction, fabrication, and maintenance work.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a skilled trade environment and develop a long-term career in the industry with possible progression to a full-time apprenticeship through Mayjan Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist tradespeople with general duties including assembly, installation, and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform manual handling, site clean-up, and materials movement.
  • Operate basic tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare and organise work areas, tools, and parts as required.
  • Follow instructions and work closely with supervisors and trades teams.

  • ABN – Must hold a current Australian Business Number.
  • Insurances – Must hold Public Liability, Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Insurances and provide certificates of currency to Mayjan Engineering.
  • PTY LTD – Must be registered with ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission).

  • Project HSE Advisors: Experience in HSE roles within industrial, construction, or mining sectors.
  • All roles require a solid understanding of WHS legislation and Australian Standards (e.g. AS 2550, AS 4100, etc.).

  • Proficient in project management software, safety management systems, and MS Office suite.
